beeing swiss and regarding all developments of the past few years and decades, i think the historical part of the assessment is mostly correct, but the rest outdated. The swiss themselves mostly agree that Switzerland, towards the end of WW2 had been much infiltrated by NAZI ideology, so it would not have been long until "peaceful surrender" if Germany had prevailed. That's also what the third reich intended. However, as correctly stated here it's the fortifications and initial will to fight, that kept "us" independent through the crisis. As for now, the neutrality is questionable. Real neutrality would be not to take sides, but the swiss governement did take side against Russia. Much against the will of many citiziens here, certainly under economical pressure of some economically dominant western nations.
